Maîtrise des salmonelles en production porcine : les fabricants d'aliment ont-ils un rôle à jouer ?

Parmi les voies d’entrée des salmonelles en élevage, l’alimentation n’est pas un facteur prépondérant, grâce à la faible contamination des matières premières et des aliments complets. De plus, l’alimentation peut apporter plusieurs techniques de lutte contre la présence des salmonelles chez les porcs.

L’exposé présente ces solutions : présentation, granulométrie flores barrières, additifs, en développant le rôle favorable de l’acidification et détaille les résultats obtenus dans plusieurs essais.

A herd modelling approach to determine the economically and environmentally most interesting dietary amino acid level during the fattening period

InraPorc is a model and software tool designed to evaluate the response of pigs to different nutritional strategies. In this study we simulated herd performance using InraPorc to evaluate different feeding strategies in terms of economic performance and environmental impact. A population of 1000 virtual pigs was generated having the same variance-covariance structure of feed intake and growth parameters as those observed in a real population of pigs.

Evaluation of Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn in manure of weaned pigs receiving high levels of organic or inorganic supplementation

A 40 days experiment has been undertaken to evaluate the Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn excretion of piglets given the upper concentrations allowed by European legislation in compound feeds. 40 male and female piglets blocked at an average weight of 8.0 kg (28 days of age) received ad libitum up to 28.6 kg control or experimental diets formulated without phytase. Inorganic (sulfates and oxide) or organic sources were respectively used in control and experimental diets as a supplementation of 110, 150, 50 and 110 mg of Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn elements per kg.

Effects of increasing the farm produced content in organic feeds on pig performances

In three experimental facilities (Exp.1, 2 and 3), two organic diets, one complex including processed feedstuffs as wheat bran and heat-treated soya beans (control), the other simplified and containing over 80% of cereal and pulses (CP), were compared for growing-finishing pigs. The base components of the CP diets were moist maize grain, wheat and faba beans in Exp.1, triticale plus coloured-flowered peas in Exp.2, and triticale, oats, white-flowered peas and faba beans in Exp.3. The control and CP diets were formulated with 0.75 g ileal digestible lysine per MJ NE.

What mineral and vitamin levels to recommand in swine diets. Que níveis de vitamina e mineral são recomendados em rações de suínos?

Minerals, including trace-elements, and vitamins are currently introduced into the pig diet in order to obtain suitable performances for the modern pig genotype bred in confinement. Most of the mineral and vitamin contents of cereals and usual protein compounds are characterized by their poor and variable availability. Supplemental diets are then usually needed. This paper, based on literature data, reviews the pig requirement for minerals and vitamins in order to ensure economic and profitable performance. Recent research has focused on phosphorus due to environmental considerations. The widespread use of microbial phytase has decreased the need for inorganic phosphates. Cereals are particularly deficient in calcium and sodium, consequently limestone and salt are necessary to meet the pig need for these minerals. Zinc and copper are recognized as growth promoting agents but their use at high levels is detrimental to the environment. The pig diets usually contain supplemental contents of iron, manganese, cobalt, iodine and selenium. The need for these elements in pig diets is described individually. Vitamin E and choline represent the most expensive vitamins added. Choline is then usually not incorporated into the pig fattening diet taking into account the choline contents of the raw materials, while vitamin E is included at a lower level than those which improve the meat quality. Our recent research has dealt with increased levels of vitamins added in combination, calculating higher requirement of the modern pig genotype. Fewer improvements have been obtained in this way, suggesting that recommendations proposed by INRA in 1984 are mainly justified.

Minerais, inclusive elementos traços, e vitaminas são atualmente adicionados nas rações de suínos objetivando obter performance adequada para genótipos modernos criados em confinamento. A maioria do conteúdo de mineral e vitamina dos cereais e compostos protéicos é caracterizada por sua baixa e variável disponibilidade. Dietas suplementares são então geralmente necessárias. Este artigo, baseado em dados de literatura, revê a exigência do suíno para minerais e vitaminas objetivando assegurar desempenho econômico e rentável. Recente pesquisa tem focado no fósforo devido às considerações ambientais. A propagação do uso de fitase microbial reduziu a necessidade de fosfato inorgânico. Cereais são particularmente deficientes em cálcio e sódio, consequentemente calcário e sal são necessários para atender a necessidade do suíno para estes minerais. Zinco e cobre são reconhecidos como agentes promotores de crescimento, mas sua utilização em elevados níveis são prejudiciais ao meio-ambiente. As rações de suínos geralmente contêm quantidades suplementares de ferro, manganês, cobalto, iodo e selênio. A necessidade para estes elementos nas rações de suínos é descrita individualmente. A vitamina E e a colina são as vitaminas mais caras a serem adicionadas. Consequentemente, a Colina não é incorporada na ração de suínos em terminação, levando-se em conta o conteúdo das matérias-primas, enquanto que a vitamina E é incluída em nível mais baixo do que aqueles que melhoram a qualidade da carne. Nossa pesquisa recente lidou com níveis elevados de vitaminas adicionadas em misturas, calculando exigências mais elevadas dos genótipos suínos modernos. Poucos avanços foram obtidos dessa maneira, sugerindo que as recomendações proposta pelo INRA em 1984 são até hoje justificadas.

Dietary intake during early pregnancy does not influence embryonic survival and variability in gilts

A high level of feeding during early pregnancy has been associated with a reduction in embryonic survival in some studies, which may result in reduced litter size in moderately prolific sows. In highly prolific sows, embryonic survival is generally not a limiting factor for litter size. Furthermore, high embryonic survival reported in hyperprolific sows results in uterine crowding and an increased risk of intrauterine growth retardation. Moreover, a good embryonic survival rate has been associated with greater variability in embryo development.

Développement des biocarburants : conséquences économiques pour la production porcine

Après avoir fixé à 5,75% le taux de biocarburants dans les carburants en 2010, l'UE vise désormais un seuil de 6% en 2020 pour les biocarburants de 1ère génération. Avec une part de 7% en 2010, la France s'est dotée d'un objectif volontariste. La part des importations par rapport aux productions européennes est une inconnue majeure. La production de biocarburants dans l'UE aura un effet modéré sur la demande de céréales ; elle stimulera la production de colza mais s'appuiera sur un recours aux importations de graines et huiles.

Valeurs nutritionnelles du glycérol pour le porc. Etat des lieux des connaissances disponibles

Le développement de la production de biodiesel peut entraîner un accroissement des quantités de glycérol disponibles pour l'alimentation animale.Cette matière première, si elle s'avère intéressante d'un point de vue économique, peut être introduite dans la ration du porc.Cependant, sa valeur nutritionnelle sur le plan énergétique notamment, n'est pas suffisamment connue. Ainsi, il apparaît que le bilan des effets du glycérol sur les performances zootechniques et les caractéristiques de carcasse des porcs est en partie contradictoire.
